History of Santisima trinidad.
It was in 1776 when the word 'Santisima Trinidad' as a sitio or place appeared in the Registros Parroquiales or Libro de Baustismos of Malolos Church (now Malolos Cathedral) hence, it is the same year when the area named after its Titular, the Most Holy Trinity (if it is not 1776 the name should appeared on the earlier ot latter year) We have scrolled the very long long list, one by one each page starting at the available existing data Year 1697.
For the historical clarification, Sitios existed older than the Barrios. Barrios are conceptualized only in the first ten or twenty years of the 19th Century. Existing Sitios where clustered to form "barrios" headed by Cabezas, later evolved into Capitan called Capitan del Barrio, each sitios has its own "teniente" called Teniente del Barrio, as the period approaching to modern era, the accessibility and communication become easily teniente del barrio (sitio chief) abolished around 1950s to 1960s leaving the Capitan del Barrio post alone and the tenientes replaced by consejales.
Sitio Santisima Trinidad, as recorded and forerold by old folks was a sitio of Barihan, likewise the Chapel where it was located was addressed in Barihan in the ancient times. Historical Data Paper from National Library of the Philippines (1903-1950) cited that Santisima Trinidad become an independent Barrio only in 1865.It is the clear explanation why Bisita ng Santisima Trinidad addressed sometimes even today by the locals as "Bisita ng Barihan" (est.1709) because the location where nipa chapel stood formerly belongs to the geographical territory of Barihan, while the small portion of it on right side where the "miraculous bukal" sprouted-out belongs to Barrio Pinagbakahan (est.1735)
The one big question to solve is when the Most Holy icon of the Holy Trinity exactly discovered? It was 1735 or 1776? Most likely, the chapel already existed long time before the political and civil entity of Santisima Trinidad as a barrio,, the chapel already existed in probably around 1735 but not in 1709, because existence of Barihan in 1709 does not prove that the chapel is already there.Building a chapel with only one baptized catholic in 1709 is impossible. Having a chapel requires at least 50 to 100 baptized catholics, and it is a long process.
How many unamed chapels formerly found in Barihan,Santisima Trinidad and pinagbakahan before? Remember that Dr.Nicanor Tiongson in his "Pagbubuo sa Bayan ng Malolos" also cited that in 1762 there is a chapel built in Pinagbakahan (Bisita ng Pinagbakahan) whose titular (patron) is not mentioned suspectedly, it is the Santo Rosario.Article: Originally composed by the Administrator of this page Photo: Registros Parroquiales of Iglesia 'y Convento de Malolos showing the first appearance of Sitio Santisima Trinidad in the Book dated Ferbruary 1776
